GROOMING TIPS
How Often Should You Groom Your Dog?
Coat type, lifestyle, and season all play a role. Here is a simple guide to keep your pup comfortable year-round.
Most dogs benefit from a professional groom every 4–8 weeks, but the ideal schedule depends on breed, coat length, and how much time they spend outdoors.
Short-coated breeds may only need a bath and tidy every couple of months, while poodles, doodles, and double-coated breeds often need more frequent visits to prevent matting and keep skin healthy.
Quick guide by coat type
- Short coat — every 6–8 weeks
- Medium / mixed coat — every 4–6 weeks
- Long or curly coat — every 3–4 weeks
- Double coat — deshedding every 4–8 weeks, full groom as needed
When in doubt, book a consultation — we are happy to recommend a routine tailored to your dog.
